Spring Rain

"Spring Rains Refresh the Soul"

I love the rain even though it cancelled some of my plans. I love the way the rain slows the world and quiets it.

We have had something that is extremely rare in Oklahoma.  Three days of almost constant rain.  Blissful, soft, drought quenching rain.

You can almost hear the plants say, "ahhhhh".

I went out this morning and moved ground cover from the steps leading to our lower lot to the hillside we cleaned this past week.  An endless project, but one I enjoy immensely.

This spring we have watched the woods behind our house go from a partial greening out state to a lush forest of green.

  1. Your lot is amazing!!! How many acres do you have? It’s just gorgeous. If I didn’t know any better I’d swear that picture was taken in the great PNW, not here in OK. 😉
    Great pictures!

  2. Our lot is 1.2 acres, but it is a pie shaped lot with the house on the small, front section so it gives you the feeling of being bigger. Nice for privacy.

As far as being like the PNW it certainly looks it now with all the rain! We laugh about being able to pretend we’re somewhere else (Colorado, PNW) other than Edmond, OK but then when we go out it is a rude awakening! 😉

    Thanks for commenting.

BTW, I put my Brooks on, but haven’t been able to ride yet. It looks good and is wider than my other saddles so I’m hoping it will be more comfortable.

  3. I love your blogs Susan and the pictures are amazing. Can’t wait to see it during our visit in June. xo

  4. That’s in Edmond? It’s so lush! We have an acre in NW OKC (across the highway from Lake Hefner) but it’s not nearly as forest-y as yours.
    Just beautiful!!!

I have the Brooks on my commuter, but haven’t ridden it much. It’s not the dream that I’d hoped, but it’s OK so far. I need to play with the tilt/position because it’s just not… right, ya know?

I hope you get to enjoy some serious saddle time soon!!
